My dad was born there. They left in 1947. The house he was born in is now a catfish lake.

I am writing a book about the Rev. George W. Lee, a voting-rights pioneer in the Delta. In the late 1930s and perhaps into the 1940s, he had a church in Midnight called the New Bethlehem MB Church. Does anyone know anything about this small church, where the cotton gin was in Midnight in the late 1930s, and something about the town in those days? Ray Ray is there anything you can say good or even bad about Midnight? My Granddad, my Mother her Sister and other relatives came from there to Pittsburgh then to Chicago? I'm Writing a story and I'd be grateful for any true facts esp about the past and old history of the place.

My Grandaddy Ira Evans lived in Midnight by the Sunflower River. We would ride the fiery back and forth across the river as it would take cars back and forth. He would get his water from the community water in a big barrel in the back of his truck.I remember him catching crawfish in the ditch and using it as bait to fish in his small boat on the Sunflower river. We as children would play in the Cotten fields.I have so many good memories visiting my Grandaddy
